Wacko Religion at it Again: Iran Looks to Ban Dogs

Well, I should clarify: the religious zealots of Iran hate the "short-legged" and "holdable" dogs (as stated in the article linked to below). Oh yes, and this one: dog ownership "also poses a cultural problem, a blind imitation of the vulgar culture of the West." And let’s not forget that to them, dogs are "impure and dangerous animals…"

Of course, as the article asks, what happens should the wackos get their way? Another China? “If passed, the law would ultimately energize police and volunteer militias to enforce the ban systematically.”
