VANCOUVER/CKNW(980) - Animals and their supporters celebrated their rights Saturday in Vancouver.
The Vancouver Humane Society celebrated the 23rd Annual Animal Rights Days in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Spokesperson Joanne Chang says people are learning how poorly some animals are treated.
People are amazed at how animals are treated. For instance, in an egg farm, where you think eggs are really harmless and then they see our displays and they are quite shocked at how terribly the animals are treate, she says.
Chang says they're encouraging people to buy organic food products.
Local animal protection groups like the Vancouver orphan kitten rescue are also taking part in the celebration.
