More on Evil Ken Salazar: Why He Hates Horses and Wolves

Luckily Ken Salazar is stepping down from the Department ofthe Interior.  But, this is after pushing terror and pain on horses and wolves.

I’ll let the article speak for itself, but I did post below what I see as the key two paragraphs.  To read the full story, visit http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2013/01/all-the-pretty-horses-ken-salazar-to-leave-interior/267234/

“Part of a longtime Colorado ranching family, eschewing reasonable alternatives, largely unaccountable to public opinion, Salazar consistently sided with ranching and livestock interests as they moved to push the nation's horses off public range lands. In so doing, he created additional burdens for American taxpayers-- who now are paying for the costs of wild horses in round-up pens-- while endorsing policies and practices which benefited these private industries. These are the same industries, incidentally, which already have long benefited from "welfare ranching"-- far-below-market lease rates for public grazing land out West.

Specifically, Salazar has allowed the BLM to: 1) round up tens of thousands of our wild horses from the patchwork of public and private lands and deposit them into ruinous holding pens in the Midwest; 2) allowed known advocates of horse slaughter to purchase thousands of those doomed horses; 3) refused to publicly discipline one of his deputies, a former BP oil executive, after she seemed to encourage ranchers to sue her own department to gain an advantage over the horses, and; 4) generated no viable plan for the continuing protection and management of these horses, which virtually guarantees their destruction.”

Easy Action to Help Protect the Endangered Red Wolf in North Carolina

Very easy.  Follow the link and sign!

“The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission recently approved a temporary state rule that allows spotlight hunting of coyotes at night throughout the state, including in the area inhabited by the only wild population of red wolves, one of the world's most endangered animals.

Red wolves and coyotes look a lot alike, even in daylight. In nighttime conditions, it is nearly impossible to tell them apart. At least two wolves have already been illegally shot.

Tell the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission: Don't let anymore wolves die! Stop all coyote hunting — daytime or nighttime — within the red wolf recovery area!”

Wolf Supporters: Take a Quick Moment to Comment and Stop Montana from Continuing to Allow Killing of Wolves

An easy action.  Follow this link below and comment:

State wildlife officials are seeking additional comment on a recent court-challenged decision to close the wolf hunting and trapping seasons in two areas north of Yellowstone National Park (YNP).

The areas were closed by the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission on December 10, 2012 in response to concern about the harvest of wolves with collars that supply scientific information to YNP researchers. A temporary restraining order issued earlier this month by a state district judge, however, reopened the seasons with the court questioning whether FWP offered sufficient public notice about the closure. The areas in question are within Wolf Management Unit 390 near Gardiner.

Evil (Animal Hating) Ken Salazar Stepping Down from Dept. of Interior: Replace with Raul Grijalva

Ken Salazar loves seeing wolves and horses killed.  After all, he’s the reason (and his boss) that wolves are being killed at massive levels now, and that wild horses are being slaughtered.

Many groups are endorsing Raul Grijalva.  And many of these groups are working to end the horrific wolf hunting and wild horse slaughter.  This is simple.  Please go to the following links and vote to have Raul Grijalva be the next Secretary of the Interior

Hypocrisy on Hatteras Island: A Letter From a Reader

I received this from one of the blogs' readers.  The words are all his.  If you can help, please do so.

Here is the message I received:

History:
After decades of the National Park Service on Cape Hatteras National Seashore,NC not complying with a Presidential directive to have a plan in place that protects tourism and wildlife on the Island the Audubon Society and Southern Environmental Law Center filed a lawsuit installing a plan that closed beaches to protect endangered wildlife. This lawsuit was a win for the Audubon the instant it was filed with the Federal District Court due to the lack of any possible opposing argument and no case law to support such an opposition. However, the local community filed as codefendants with the losing side, the National Park Service, citing economic loss to local businesses without any regard for the endangered wildlife. As a result Dare County took a pass on taking an environmental stance and any possibility of having a plan of their own for preserving their own wildlife.Dare County's position is that the Audubon is the enemy which they plead to the media after bullying most of the population into agreeing with their position. They  put their economy, their wealth, and their childrens wealth over that of the Islands environmental health by rationalizing the importance of their legacy to make money and stating the ptotection of everyones rights.By doing so they entitled themselves to money still in other peoples pockets without extending to those people the right to choose for themselves the amount of environmental damage that was acceptable due to their tourism.Dare County managed to get support for a Congressional Bill voiding the Audubon's lawsuit,HR 4094,by getting 7 republican Congressmen to sponser the bill which was passed by the House.US Senator Kay Hagan,NC opposed the Bill.

Hypocrisy:
When Dare County established that the Park Service was using Preditor Management, killing other animals, as a means to protect endangered birds they plead hypocrisy on the part of the Audubon to rally support to drive them out. When this tactic did not work due to the fact Preditor Management is a national policy,a failure but still a policy at every National Park, they dropped the issue and went back to claiming their loss of revenue. If this issue was that important to them instead of filing and waisting money opposing the Audubon they could have championed the cause to stop such killings and filed to have only trap and release as our national policy.Consequently, new evidence exists that it is the local animal abusers that are killing most of the wildlife there by running them down on the road for fun, using cats and birds of all kinds as targets to shoot at,and who violated the wildlife boundries causing more area to be sanctioned and closed. This they readily blaimed on tourists which only strengthened the need for more habitat to be off limits. The kind of acts their ancestors gave the land to the Park Service to protect against! Now these same people have a video out titled "Americas Beaches-The People Of Hatteras Island" where they somehow believe their legacy entitles them to riches only they are entitled to such as control of a National Park and the economy thereabouts, that they should be the environmental authority and all other environmentalists thought of as terrorists, and want your support to Repeal The Endangered Species Act,the hypocrisy of which is self evident. The problem here is that once people have brainwashed themselves into believing their own lies and bullied others to support the lie they actually think it is the truth and no manner of logic can deter their thinking.None of them even asked about my legacy here or what my position on the wildlife was.A difference of oppinion makes you the enemy period but they are the self appointed protector of my rights and the rights of the animals when it suits them?If you vacation here then you give up your rights to choose for their superior wisdom on the environment yet support their purchase of newer 4x4 trucks and guns for them and their children to kill animals with when they decide it is fun to do so.All authorities whose job it is to enforce the Cruelty To Animals statute, which is a felony in NC,have decided to look the other way for the cause of us all getting rich.Unless of course you happen to be for the animals, then they have no problem boycotting you and forcing you into bankruptcy-it is only their money that is important!

TELL HATTERAS ISLAND NC STOP THE ANIMAL ABUSERS,CLEAN UP THE HYPOCRISY OR LEARN TO LIVE WITHOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY!!!

Happy 2013 Everyone! Let’s Make this a Strong Year! Act and Don’t Just Wish: Saving Even One Life is Meaningful Work!

It’s 2013, and we can only hope for a strong year.  I had to attend to personal matters for the last 2 weeks of 2012, but am looking forward to posting soon.

We can wish, but we can also be as active as possible in this near year.

Please try to do all you can to change all of the cruelty we all unfortunately see and hear of in this world (and not just your immediate world).  I include in this volunteerism, in terms of with active groups and at local places of need such as shelters and/or humane society-like groups.  Helping to get dogs, cats, etc. adopted is also meaningful action.  Or, even just taking the time to help walk them and even donating money to feed them.

Or maybe this year you report a neighbor you know is chaining a dog without food / water.  Saving one life is meaningful work.

But, again, wishing is one thing; we all need to act (legally) to help creep closer to a more just and cruelty-free world for the non-human animals as well.

Let’s get it on!
